Side Hustles
Legal activities you level up over time, earning rewards as you progress — and how they differ from jobs and criminal activity.
A Side Hustle is a legal activity with its own levelling system. The more you do it, the more Viridia Rank XP you earn, and each new level unlocks rewards. Think of it as a skill your character gets better at over time, which you can work on alongside whatever else they do in the city.
Not everything is a Side Hustle
VIRIDIA has three different ways to earn a living, and it helps to call them by the right name:

Quick test:
- Is it illegal? Then it's criminal activity, even if it involves skill or progression.
- Is it legal and has levels with rewards? Then it's a Side Hustle.
- Is it legal work without levels? Then it's a job (or legal job).

How Side Hustles work
- Start a hustle in the city. Anyone can get going; you don't need an application.
- Earn Viridia Rank XP each time you do it.
- Level up. Each level unlocks rewards, which depend on the hustle. They might be better pay, new options or useful items.
- Keep it up. XP can rust over time, so keep practising the hustles you care about to stay sharp.
You can have a job and work on Side Hustles. They're designed to fit around the rest of your character's life in the city. Open the Hustles app on your phone to see your progress and any XP boosts running in the city.
💡 XP boosts: when someone uses an XP Token, everyone in the city earns double XP in that hustle for a while.
Play it fair
Side Hustles reward genuine roleplay and effort. Using exploits, macros or other ways to farm progress without actually playing isn't allowed and is handled like any other rule break. See the server rules.
